Privacy policy on the operation of cookies – Art. 13 Privacy Code

In this notice we give you a complete account of the operation of the so-called cookies on this website (hereinafter “Site”).

Definition of “cookie”

Cookies are tiny text files sent by the Site to the terminal of the person concerned (usually to the browser, regardless of the device, PC, tablet, smartphone, used), where they are stored to be retransmitted to the Site on the next visit of the same user.
This is done in order to correctly use the services made available by the Site itself. A cookie cannot recall any other data from the user’s hard disk or transmit computer viruses or acquire e-mail addresses. Each cookie is unique to the user’s web browser. The term ‘cookies’ refers to cookies used for navigation and all similar technologies.

Purposes of the data processing and purposes of the session “technical cookies”

The cookies used on the Site are intended to perform computer authentication or session tracking and the storage of specific technical information regarding users accessing the service offered on these web pages, etc. From this point of view, some operations on the Site could not be carried out without the use of cookies, which in such cases are therefore technically necessary. By way of example, access to reserved areas of the Site and the activities that can be carried out there would be much more complex to carry out and less secure without the presence of cookies that allow the user to be identified and maintain his or her identification during the session.
Pursuant to Article 122, paragraph 1, of the Privacy Code (in the current wording following the entry into force of Legislative Decree 69/2012) “technical” cookies may be used even without the consent of the person concerned. Among other things, the same European body that brings together all the Privacy Authorities of the various Member States (the so-called “Article 29” Group) has clarified in Opinion 4/2012 (WP194) entitled “Cookie Consent Exemption” that they are cookies for which it is not necessary to obtain the prior and informed consent of the user:
1)cookies with data filled in by the user (session identifier), lasting one session or persistent cookies limited to a few hours in some cases;
2)cookies for authentication, used for the purposes of authenticated services, lasting one session;
3)user-centric security cookies, used to detect misuse of authentication, for a limited persistent duration;
4)session cookies for media players, such as cookies for “flash” players, lasting one session;
5)session cookies for load balancing, lasting one session;
6)persistent cookies for customizing the user interface, lasting one session (or slightly more);
7)Cookies for sharing content through third party social plug-ins, for members of a social network who are logged in.
On this Site there are “necessary technical cookies” to navigate within the Site because they allow essential functions such as authentication, validation, management of a browsing session and fraud prevention and allow, for example: to identify whether the user has regularly accessed areas of the site that require prior authentication or user validation and session management for the various services and applications or data storage for secure access or control and fraud prevention functions.
We also specify the presence of cookies for statistical purposes of access to the site, for analysis purposes for internal use, without any sensitive data being sent or retrieved from the Site.
In the case of subscribing to the newsletter and/or sending an e-mail with a form, it is necessary for the user to accept it, by e-mail in the first case, with explicit consent by clicking on the Send button, in the second case.
The user may unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, or request the cancellation of their e-mail after receiving the response generated by the request generated by the form.

Third Party Cookies

During navigation on the Site, the user may also receive cookies from different sites or web servers (so-called “third party” cookies) on his terminal: this is because the Site may contain elements such as, for example, images, maps, sounds, specific links to web pages of other domains that reside on servers other than the one on which the requested page is located. In other words, these cookies are set directly by operators of websites or servers other than the Site.
These cookies may be sent to your browser by third party companies directly from their websites which can be accessed by navigating from the Site. In such cases, the Site is not involved in the operation of such cookies, the sending of which is the responsibility of such third-party companies. As in fact clarified by the Privacy Guarantor: “The obligation to inform the user about the use of cookies and to obtain prior consent if necessary is the responsibility of the operator of the site that uses them, as data controller. In the event that a site also allows the transmission of “third party” cookies, the information and the acquisition of consent are normally the responsibility of the third party. The user must be adequately informed, albeit in the simplified manner provided by law, when accessing the site that allows the storage of third-party cookies, or when accessing the content provided by third parties and, in any case, before the cookies are downloaded to his terminal”.
